Black Panther producer teases multiple Wakanda series

November 13, 2022 by EJ Moreno

Are you ready for more from Wakanda and the world of Black Panther?

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is currently in cinemas, and if one of the men involved in bringing the films to life has anything to say, we could see much more from Wakanda as the Marvel Cinematic Universe continues.

Back in early 2021, Ryan Coogler signed a five-year deal with Disney which included a Wakanda-based series for Disney+, but it seems those plans may have expanded as producer Nate Moore spoke to Variety about what the future holds for Wakanda.

“This world is expansive, and there are so many great characters,” states Moore. “Beyond what happens with this film, there are more opportunities to go back to Wakanda.”

The producer adds that the crew has “some ideas” for shows based on established characters but notes that any of the upcoming series could star characters within Wakanda “that would be completely new… there are no shortage of ideas, let’s put it that way.”

Wakanda Forever already has one spinoff of sorts heading to Disney+, with Dominique Thorne reprising her role as Riri Williams for next year’s Ironheart series, which has Black Panther director Ryan Coogler attached as an executive producer.

As the Wakandans strive to embrace their next chapter, the heroes must band together with the help of War Dog Nakia (Lupita Nyong’o) and Everett Ross (Martin Freeman) and forge a new path for the kingdom of Wakanda.\

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever reunites Ryan Coogler with his Black Panther stars Danai Gurira (Okoye), Letitia Wright (Shuri), Winston Duke (M’Baku), Lupita Nyong’o (Nakia), Florence Kasumba (Ayo), Angela Bassett (Ramonda) and Martin Freeman (Everett Ross), while new additions include Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams/Ironheart, Tenoch Huerta as Namor, Michaela Coel as Aneka, Mabel Cadena as Namora and Alex Livanalli as Attuma.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is currently playing in cinemas.
