Brainiac, Doomsday, Adam Strange and Hawkwoman confirmed for Superman prequel series Krypton

July 23, 2017 by Gary Collinson

Having unveiled a brief teaser back on Thursday [watch it here], Syfy held its Krypton panel at the San Diego Comic-Con International yesterday, during which we got some new details about the Superman prequel series, including the fact that it isn’t just a show set in the past of Kal-El’s homeworld.

“It’s a show that, although it takes place centuries ago on Krypton about the House of El, it’s about a conspiracy from the present that has traveled back in time to to Krypton to prevent Superman’s legacy from ever happening,” said DC’s Geoff Johns (via THR). “Adam Strange and Hawkwoman come to Krypton trying to stop the conspiracy and save Superman’s legacy. Doomsday will be in the show. Brainiac is long overdue to be on screen like that.”

“‘I’m from a planet called Earth, my name is Adam Strange, I come from a time long after this and I need you to help me save the legacy of your grandson,’” said Johns, revealing Adam Strange’s introduction speech in the series. “There are others [from Earth] already on Krypton and as the series progresses, we’ll bring in some more [classic DC characters].”

As part of the panel, it was also confirmed that Krypton will exist in its own universe, ruling out any other potential crossovers with DC shows or movies.

Syfy’s Krypton, the much-anticipated Superman prequel set two generations before the destruction of the legendary Man of Steel’s home planet, will follow Superman’s grandfather–whose House of El was ostracized and shamed–as he fights to redeem his family’s honor and save his beloved world from chaos.

Krypton features a cast that includes Cameron Cuffe as Seg-El, Georgina Campbell as Lyta Zod, Ian McElhinney as Val-El, Elliot Cowan as Daron Vex, Ann Ogbomo as Primus Alura Zod, Rasmus Hardiker as Kem, Wallis Day as Nyssa Vex,and Aaron Pierre as Dev-Em.
