Brides of Dracula heading to NBC

September 4, 2015 by Gary Collinson

Deadline is reporting that NBC has given a pilot production commitment to Brides of Dracula, a “gothic soap drama” from writer Robert Aguirre-Sacasa and producer Greg Berlanti, which will focus on the three female vampires who feature in Bram Stoker’s classic horror novel Dracula.

The project will see Dracula’s three brides now living in modern-day New York City, and is described as ” a sexy reimagining of Dracula as a family drama with a trio of strong, diverse female leads, a show about empowered women and the things they do to maintain wealth, prestige, legacy — and their non-traditional family.”

Brides of Dracula is the latest collaboration between Aguirre-Sacasa and Berlanti, who have the Archie Comics TV series Riverdale set up at The CW.
