Bruce Campbell to star in Mallrats 2

October 20, 2015 by Luke Owen

During this month’s New York Comic Con, writer and director Kevin Smith moderated a panel for the upcoming Ash vs. The Evil Dead, which showed its first episode to much praise. But while hosting the event, Smith took it upon himself to promote his next venture, and ask a favour of Bruce Campbell.

“At the end of the panel, I saw my moment and I took it.” Smith told the audience at the recording of his Hollywood Babble On podcast. “I’m gonna do it in front of everyone, the best time to ask somebody is to publicly shame them. So I said, ‘Bruce, in January we make a movie called Mallrats 2 – will you be in it?’ And he goes, ‘yes’. So he’s in it.”

Mallrats 2 stars shooing in January and has many of the original cast returning with Smith confirming that Jason Lee, Jeremy London, Jason Mewes, Shannen Doherty, Ethan Suplee, Joey Lauren Adams, Renee Humphrey, Claire Forlani, Michael Rooker, Sven-Ole Thorsen, Brian O’Halloran, Bryan Johnson, Walt Flanagan, Scott Mosier and Stan Lee will join new cast members Ralph Garman (Yoga Hosers) and Bruce Campbell (Ash vs. The Evil Dead). Still no word on Ben Affleck…
