Bruce Willis to star in Death Wish remake

March 5, 2016 by Gary Collinson

Deadline is reporting that Bruce Willis has signed on for the lead role of Paul Kersey in the upcoming Death Wish remake from Paramount Pictures, which is to be directed by Aharon Keshales and Navot Papushado (Big Bad Wolves).

Based on Brian Garfield’s 1972 novel, the first Death Wish movie was directed by Michael Winner and starred Charles Bronson as Kersey, an architect who seeks revenge when he wife is murdered and his daughter sexually assaulted. The film was released in 1974 and was followed by four sequels, the last of which came in 1994.

A remake of Death Wish has been in the pipeline since 2006 and has previously passed through the hands of Sylvester Stallone, Joe Carnahan and Gerardo Naranjo.
