Bryan Singer teases another Quicksilver slow-motion sequence in X-Men: Apocalypse

June 11, 2015 by Gavin Logan

Back in May 2014 producer Simon Kinberg teased that Quicksilver might be returning to the next X-Men movie and then in October of last year we got further confirmation that he most definitely would be making an appearance. We still don’t know how bid an impact he’ll have in the grand scale of the story but thanks to director Bryan Singer, we now know a little bit more about at least one scene in which Quicksilver will appear.

Singer posted a photo on his official Instagram teasing another Quicksilver slow-motion sequence in X-Men: Apocalypse, much like the one we saw during Days of Future Past when he helped Wolverine and Beast bust Magneto out of that “impenetrable” prison. It was one of the highlights of the entire movie and despite a fleeting appearance many movie fans wanted to see more of Evan Peters as Peter Maximoff.

Singer also posted a behind-the-scenes look from the new lobby of the X-Mansion and has been posting various other images from the set of X-Men: Apocalypse since the movie first went into production a few months ago.

Are we all excited to see Quicksilver make a return?

X-Men: Apocalypse is set for release on May 19th, 2016 in the UK and May 27th, 2016 in the States, with Bryan Singer directing a cast that includes X-Men veterans James McAvoy (Professor X), Michael Fassbender (Magneto), Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique), Nicholas Hoult (Beast), Evan Peters (Quicksilver), Rose Byrne (Moira MacTaggert) and Lucas Till (Havok) along with newcomers Oscar Isaac (Star Wars: The Force Awakens) as Apocalypse, Sophie Turner (Game of Thrones) as Jean Grey, Tye Sheridan (Mud) as Cyclops, Alexandra Shipp (House of Anubis) as Storm, Kodi Smit-McPhee (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes) as Nightcrawler, Ben Hardy (EastEnders) as Angel, Olivia Munn (Magic Mike) as Psylocke and newcomer Lana Condor as Jubilee.
