Captain America: Civil War finally made its way across the Pond last night, with the latest Marvel Studios blockbuster pulling in $25 million from domestic Thursday night screenings.
That figure is $2.7 million short of rival superhero movie Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which went on to gross $166.1 million in its domestic opening weekend. However, Civil War is projected to beat that, with analysts estimating that the Marvel movie will earn around $200 million this weekend.
Civil War has already grossed $291.2 million internationally, and should cross the $600 million mark by close of play on Sunday.
