Chandler Riggs’ dad unhappy with The Walking Dead mid-season finale

December 12, 2017 by Samuel Brace

The father of The Walking Dead star, Chandler Riggs, is reportedly unhappy at events during the show’s mid-season finale. Spoilers to follow…

In the mid-season finale of AMC’s The Walking Dead, one of the show’s few remaining original stars, Chandler Riggs (Carl), suffered the dreaded bite of a zombie, signalling the character’s end.

Now that Carl has been written out of the show, Riggs is out of a job, and his father isn’t best pleased. Talking on Facebook, William Riggs went after the series and its showrunner Scott Gimple.

“Watching Gimple fire my son 2 weeks before his 18th birthday after telling him they wanted him for the next 3 years was disappointing,” Riggs wrote. “I never trusted Gimple or AMC but Chandler did. I know how much it hurt him. But we do absolutely know how lucky we have been to be a part of it all and appreciate all the love from fans all these years!”

Riggs ultimately wished the show success, despite his obvious anger: “I hope the show keeps doing well!”

The comments appeared on William Riggs Facebook page (via comicbook.com).
