Chris Messina joins Kaley Cuoco in Peacock thriller Based on a True Story

October 8, 2022 by Ricky Church

Peacock has made an addition to Based on a True Story, a dark comedic thriller from Emmy-nominated writer and executive producer Craig Rosenberg (The Boys).

Joining Kayley Cuoco (The Flight Attendant) in the series is Chris Messina (Sharp Objects) as Nathan, “the washed-up tennis star husband of realtor Ava (Cuoco).”

Inspired “by a bizarre true event”, the series tells the story of “a realtor, a plumber and a former tennis star whose lives unexpectedly collide, exposing America’s obsession with true crime, murder and the slow close toilet seat.”

Rosenberg will serve as showrunner and executive produce Based on a True Story with Aggregate Film’s Jason Bateman and Michael Costigan with Aggregate’s Roxie Rodriguez as co-executive producer.
