Chris Pratt defends Star-Lord’s actions in Avengers: Infinity War

June 2, 2018 by Gary Collinson

Warning. Avengers: Infinity War spoilers follow…

Earth’s Mightiest Heroes suffered a devastating defeat at the hands of Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War, as the Mad Titan succeeded in his goal of assembling the six Infinity Stones and using them to eliminate half of all life in the universe.

Things could have been so much different however, had Star-Lord managed to keep his head during the battle on Titan. Unfortunately, Quill let his emotions get the better of him after learning that Thanos had killed Gamora, allowing the villain to break free from the Avengers, who were moments away from removing the Infinity Gauntlet from his arm.

As a result, Star-Lord has come in for criticism for his actions, with some fans laying the blame for the Avengers’ crushing defeat at his feet – something actor Chris Pratt has now addressed during an interview with the Radio Times:

“Look – the guy watched his mother die, he watched as his father-figure died in his arms, he was forced to kill his own biological father,” said Pratt. “And now has suffered the loss of the love of his life. So I think he reacted in a way that’s very human, and I think the humanity of the Guardians of the Galaxy is what sets them apart from other superheroes. I think if we did it a hundred times I wouldn’t change a thing. And also, I blame Thanos, OK? Jeez, how come he’s not getting any blame? Clearly, I’m very sensitive about this.”
