August 13, 2023 by EJ Moreno

Christopher Nolan is known as a cinema lover, often labeled pretentious by his critics. But the filmmaker can appreciate all times of times as he just declared his love for Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby.

A few weeks back on the promotional tour for Oppenheimer, Nolan stopped by the Rich Eisen Show and gave us a clip that has now gone viral. In the interview, the filmmaker provides a surprising answer when asked what his ‘remote drop movie’ would be.

Nolan tells the host, “If there’s an old movie playing, I mean, anything by Kubrick, it’s a remote drop. And one of the great comedies too, I mean Talladega Nights, I’m never gonna be able to switch that up.”

Eisen responds, shocked, “Really? The Ballad of Ricky Bobby is a Christopher Nolan remote drop; is that what you’re saying?”.

Nolan then quoted one of its famous lines: “If you ain’t first, you’re last.”

If you’re shocked, Christopher Nolan is known for loving all sorts of movies. Not too long ago, he recently declared his love for The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift. Nolan seems to want to enjoy his time at the cinema, no matter the genre. Check out the clip below…
