Chucky spotlighted in new Dead By Daylight trailer

November 23, 2023 by Olly Dyche

Joining Dead by Daylight’s stacked roster of iconic serial killers, comes everyone’s favorite Good Guy Doll, Chucky.

Dead by Daylight, has amassed are large assortment of iconic horror villains for players to play run around, butchering other players attempting to escape. So far, we have seen the likes of Michael Myers, Freddy Krueger, Leatherface, Ghostface, and more recently, the Xenomorph make appearances as deadly killers in this beloved video game. Now, with much anticipation, and longing by fans, Chucky is the latest killer to join the ranks of some of horrors best, in Dead by Daylight.

Of all the killers Dead by Daylight has received over the years, Chucky is perhaps the most anticapted. He’s a character fans have been clammering ever since the game dropped it’s first horror character, Michael Myers. And after seven years, fans finally get their wish granted, and its even more glorious than we possible could have imagined.

Chucky is set to be the most unique killer in the game. His small stature and big personality will allow players to crawl under pallets, and lunge at their enemies, all while screaming deplorable profanities, keeping true to his character . Upon downing a survivor the spirit of Charles Lee Ray, the serial killer who possessed the doll, will appear helping Chucky carry a survivor to the nearest hook to sacrifice.

On top of his basic ability, Chucky comes with a unique power, named Playtimes Over. This power allows Chucky to charge at his enemies before unleashing a terrifying lunge that can damage survivors from afar, closing the distance in a chase.

Like every killer, Chucky will have three perks: Batteries Included, Friends Till the End, and Two Can Play, a Hex perk. Batteries Included grants Chucky a large speed boost when running past a completed generator, granting him a large advantage in a chase. Friends Till the End will reveal the Obsession, when hooking a survivor who isn’t the Obsession. Two Can Play, which will become a nightmare for survivors, but a blessing for killers, stuns or blinds the survivor who dropped a palette or used a flashlight on the killer for 1.5 seconds.

Dead by Daylight has seen a plethora of over-the-top and brutal Memento Moris (cutscenes that allow the player to kill survivors by their own hand without the need of a sacrifice), but Chucky’s may be the best, and most over-the-top yet. Upon killing a survivor, Chucky throws a hammer downing them, before jumping on their backs and beat them with a baseball bat. After a brutal blugeon, Chucky plunges a sharp yellow object into the survivor’s back, before repeatedly stabbing them in the neck, finishing them off with an adorable little kick to the ribs.

Chucky comes to Dead By Daylight on November 28th.
