Creepy mannequins revealed in new trailer for The 18th Attic

May 15, 2025 by Andrew Newton

Steelkrill Studio has released a new teaser trailer (see below) for their highly anticipated title, The 18th Attic.  This new trailer provides a first look at one of the game’s most terrifying of entities, the mannequins. These “Weeping Angel” like creatures will freeze the moment they are looked at but look away and they’ll hunt you down.

The mannequins appear lifeless while in the player’s field of vision, but turn away or lower your camera and they’ll move closer with malevolent intent. This mechanic will add a new layer of psychological tension to the game and will make photography and your camera as an even more vital defence.  As the Doctor advised in the 2007 Doctor Who episode Blink “Don’t turn your back, don’t look away, and DON’T blink”.

The mannequins, as well as all the paranormal anomalies such as shifting shadows, spectral figures and cryptic disturbances, can understandably lead to a great deal of mental stress. Fortunately, players will be able to take a breather and pet their cat to reduce stress and steady their nerves.

In The 18th Attic, players take the role of a man trapped in a loop and only by hunting down paranormal anomalies with an instant picture camera will help unlock a new memory that will lead to their escape. Use this instant camera to take photos of these anomalies, but beware as some will try to trick you and others will simply go on the attack. Be careful not to run out of film for the camera or the haunting hunt may come to an end.

Look out for The 18th Attic coming soon to Steam for PC.  Visit the game’s Steam page and add it to your Wishlist.
