Daisy Ridley reportedly wanted for Tomb Raider reboot

March 10, 2016 by Thomas Roach

Having been plucked from obscurity to play Rey in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, it looks like actress Daisy Ridley could be getting another iconic role in the near future, with Deadline reporting that Ridley is the number one choice to play Lara Croft in the reboot of the Tomb Raider film franchise.

The new movie is said to be heavily influenced by the Square Enix video game reboot Tomb Raider which was released in 2013 and follows a young Lara before she refined her skills as an explorer and treasure hunter.

A reboot of the Tomb Raider franchise has been in development for several years now. Angelina Jolie originally played Lara Croft in Lara Croft: Tomb Raider and Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life in 2000 and 2003 respectively.
