Daniel Craig confirms James Bond exit after No Time To Die

November 20, 2019 by Liam Waddington

As a surprise to no-one, Daniel Craig has confirmed he will exit from the James Bond role after No Time To Die and has no desire to return to the franchise as a director for future instalments.

German site Express confirmed about Daniel Craig’s exit from James Bond during a recent interview. You can read a portion of the translated interview here:

As mentioned above, his exit will come as no surprise as Craig has often expressed publicly his desire to leave the role behind. After his run ends with No Time To Die, Craig will have portrayed the iconic spy in five movies in the franchise including Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, Skyfall, and Spectre. However, this does raise the question as to who will continue the legacy of James Bond for future instalments.

Are you surprised by Daniel Craig’s exit? Who would you like to see continue the character for future movies in the franchise? Let us know in the comments below or tweet us @flickeringmyth…

Bond has left active service and is enjoying a tranquil life in Jamaica. His peace is short-lived when his old friend Felix Leiter from the CIA turns up asking for help. The mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist turns out to be far more treacherous than expected, leading Bond onto the trail of a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology.

No Time To Die is set for release in the UK on April 2nd 2020 and in the U.S. on April 8th 2020 and stars Daniel Craig (James Bond), Ralph Fiennes (M), Naomie Harris (Moneypenny), Rory Kinnear (Tanner), Léa Seydoux (Madeleine Swann), Ben Whishaw (Q), Jeffrey Wright (Felix Leiter) and Christoph Waltz (Blofeld), while new additions include Rami Malek (Bohemian Rhapsody), Ana de Armas (Blade Runner 2049), Lashana Lynch (Captain Marvel), Billy Magnussen (Velvet Buzzsaw), Dali Benssalah (A Faithful Man) and David Dencik (Top of the Lake).
