Dave Bautista hopes Drax and Thanos go head-to-head in Avengers: Infinity War

April 19, 2017 by Robert Kojder

We are just a little over a week away from the UK release of the highly anticipated Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and with the sequel rapidly approaching, the cast are beginning to take part in various interviews with the media.

Speaking to Screen Rant, Dave Bautista, who returns as Drax, has made it known that he hopes to see The Destroyer going one-on-one with Josh Brolin’s Thanos when the Guardians team up with Earth’s Mightiest Heroes in next year’s Avengers: Infinity War:

“Personally I’d love to see him go head to head with Thanos. I’d love to see that. I’ve always been a proponent for that. You now, they’re just really brilliant about their writing. James Gunn has so much, well, he’ll have complete creative control over Guardians 3 and he has tons of input as far as Guardians go on in Infinity War, so I just trust in him, man. I do completely.”

Let us know below in the comments if that is a battle you’re keenly anticipating…

Set to the backdrop of ‘Awesome Mixtape #2,’ Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 continues the team’s adventures as they traverse the outer reaches of the cosmos. The Guardians must fight to keep their newfound family together as they unravel the mysteries of Peter Quill’s true parentage. Old foes become new allies and fan-favorite characters from the classic comics will come to our heroes’ aid as the Marvel cinematic universe continues to expand.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is scheduled for release on April 28th 2017 in the UK and on May 5th in the States, with director James Gunn reuniting with returning cast members Chris Pratt (Star-Lord), Zoe Saldana (Gamora), Dave Bautista (Drax), Bradley Cooper (Rocket), Vin Diesel (Groot), Karen Gillan (Nebula), Michael Rooker (Yondu), Glenn Close (Nova Prime) and Sean Gunn (Kraglin) alongside new additions Pom Klementieff (Oldboy) as Mantis, Elizabeth Debicki (The Man from U.N.C.L.E.) as Ayesha, Kurt Russell (The Hateful Eight) as Ego the Living Planet, Chris Sullivan (The Drop) as Taserface and Sylvester Stallone (Creed) and Michael Rosenbaum (Smallville) in as-yet-unrevealed roles.
