Dave Bautista rumoured to play The Kurgan in Highlander reboot

February 12, 2015 by Gary Collinson

If Latino-Review is to be believed, Summit Entertainment may have found its villain for the long-gestating Highlander reboot, with the site reporting that Dave Bautista (Guardians of the Galaxy) will play The Kurgan, a role portrayed by Clancy Brown in the 1986 original.

Currently steering the Highlander reboot is first time filmmaker Cedric Nicolas-Troyan, while the role of Connor MacLeod remains unfilled after Ryan Reynolds pulled out. Back in November, it was also reported that Tom Cruise (Edge of Tomorrow) is on the studio’s radar for MacLeod’s mentor, Juan Ramirez.

Former WWE star Bautista is currently filming the 24th Bond adventure SPECTRE, and also has the Kickboxer reboot Kickboxer: Vengeance on his upcoming slate.
