David Harbour wants Mark Ruffalo to play Hopper’s brother in Stranger Things

November 2, 2017 by Samuel Brace

Stanger Things star David Harbour has said that he would like Mark Ruffalo to play the brother of his character Hopper.

With season two of the hit fantasy Netflix series airing last weekend, fans and audiences around the world are enjoying more adventures with the kids and adults from the town of Hawkins.

Stranger Things is of course a rather big deal, and certainly able to attract some of the best talent the industry has to offer. And this is what David Harbour is hoping for, as he told Screen Rant’s Daniel Falconer on twitter that he would like Marvel star Mark Ruffalo to play his character’s long lost brother.

Ruffalo had joked that he wanted to join the Stranger Things team and when asked what he thought of the idea, Harbour responded: “Check Instagram, but I’ll tell him again. Jim’s older, more well put together brother, Hank. The star. Casts a debilitating long shadow.”

Whether Stranger Things can actually get someone as busy as Ruffalo to come on board is up for debate but from Harbour’s description of his character’s brother, the actor would certainly fit the bill.

It’s 1984 and the citizens of Hawkins, Indiana are still reeling from the horrors of the demogorgon and the secrets of Hawkins Lab. Will Byers has been rescued from the Upside Down but a bigger, sinister entity still threatens those who survived.

The second season of Stranger Things is on Netflix now and sees the return of cast members Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Finn Wolfhard, Noah Schnapp, Charlie Heaton, Natalia Dyer and Joe Keery, along with new additions Sean Astin (The Goonies), Paul Reiser (Aliens), Linnea Berthelsen (The Desert), Sadie Sink (Odyssey), Dacre Montgomery (Power Rangers) and Brett Gelman (Brett Gelman’s Dinner in America).
