Deadloch enters its ‘tropical Gothic era’ with season 2 trailer

February 19, 2026 by Ricky Church

Prime Video has released the trailer for the second season of its murder mystery comedy Deadloch. Starring Kate Box and Madeleine Sami, the second season is billed as the series’ “tropical Gothic era” as the Australian detectives deal with body parts and crocodiles. Watch the trailer and check out first-look images below…

Deadloch premiered on Prime Video in 2023 which followed Dulcie Collins and Eddie Redcliffe, a pair of foul-mouthed Aussie detectives on a murder case in Tasmania. Created by Kate McCartney and Kate McLennan, the series became a huge success for Prime Video which has been nominated for several awards at various ceremonies. Season two will premiere on March 20th.

Season two follows Collins and Recliffe as they head to the country’s sweltering Top End, otherwise known as the Northern Territory. In Darwin, they investigate the death of Eddie’s former policing partner Bushy, but the discovery of a body part in the remote town of Barra Creek diverts their plans. As Norther Territory police focus on the large-scale investigation for two missing backpackers, Dulcie and the very reluctant Eddie are tasked with identifying the John Doe.

Returning from the first season are Kate Box, Madeleine Sami, Nina Oyama and Alicia Gardiner with newcomers including Luke Hemsworth, Steve Bisley, Shari Sebbens, Genevieve Morris, Byron Coll, Nikki Britton, Anthony J. Sharpe, Blake Pavey, Damien Garvey, Ngali Shaw, Bev Killick, Ling Cooper-Tang, Ursula Yovich, Syd Brisbane, Ines English, Lennox Monaghan, Reiden Corpus, Storm Murgha and introducing Jean Tong in their acting debut.

“We cannot wait to share Season Two of Deadloch with fans worldwide on March 20,” said Sarah Christie, head of Australian and New Zealand originals, Amazon MGM Studios. “Season One proved that authentic and bold storytelling transcends borders, fast becoming both a critical success and cultural phenomenon not just in Australia, but internationally. The success of Deadloch is a testament to the creative force of Kate McCartney and Kate McLennan who have again delivered a brilliant, funny and moving second season, this time taking audiences to the sweltering and utterly unique world of the Top End.”

McCartney and McLennan serve as showrunners and executive produce with Kevin Whyte, Tanya Phegan and Ben Grogan for Guesswork Television. The six-episode second season is directed by Beck Cole and Gracie Otto.

Deadloch season two will premiere March 20th on Prime Video.
