Deborah Ann Woll hasn’t heard anything about a Daredevil revival

April 30, 2019 by Gary Collinson

In the wake of Netflix’s Marvel cancellations, fans of Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist and The Punisher were given some hope that the shows may live on, with Disney+ chief Kevin Mayer suggesting back in December that there is “a possibility” the series could be revived on the upcoming Disney+ streaming service.

It would be a huge surprise if each of the shows made their return (is there really much demand for more Iron Fist out there?), but Marvel did previously tease more “adventures” for Daredevil, and it would be an even bigger surprise if we have indeed seen the last of the Man Without Fear.

Whether that will be a revival of the Netflix series with Charlie Cox and company remains to be seen, but according to Karen Page actress Deborah Ann Woll, there hasn’t been any talk of a comeback by this point.

“When we saw Luke Cage and Iron Fist go, we started to think maybe it was 50/50 and then when they let us go, I thought, ‘Oh, they’re going in another direction.’ They’re going to put their energy into something else and I’m going to start focusing on doing that as well,” states Woll (via Dark Horizons). “I’ve heard absolutely nothing about resurrecting it in any way and I think the chances of that are pretty slim. For me, in my kind of grieving, and moving on from this experience, I have to kind of do that… Daredevil is going to be this beautiful memory rather than a frustrating memory by hanging on to it.”

“I’m kind of pushing through, so I had to take a step away from it all just for my own mental health,” she continued. “I’m trying to live in a grateful place and a warm, thankful, place… usually you get canceled because you suck and in a way, it’s a really nice thing to get cancelled at the height of our powers, to really go out and say that was strong rather than do three more seasons that people are like ‘Eh, I wish it were more like season three.’”

It’s been said that Marvel’s contract with Netflix prevents them from doing anything with each of the series for a period of two years from the date of their cancellation. With that in mind, it’s no surprise that there haven’t been any discussions as yet, and so this certainly doesn’t rule out the possibility that Cox’s Devil of Hell’s Kitchen might make his return to the MCU at some point.
