Netflix just nabbed an all-star for Here Comes the Flood as Denzel Washington, Robert Pattinson, and Daisy Edgar-Jones have all been tapped to star in the upcoming heist film.
Fernando Meirelles (The Two Popes) will direct the film, which is written by Simon Kinberg (Mr. & Mrs. Smith). Meirelles will produce the movie alongside Kinberg and Audrey Chon for Genre Films, and Samson Mucke will serve as an executive producer.
Here Comes the Flood is an unconventional heist movie about a bank guard, a teller, and a master thief in a deadly game of cons and double crosses.
The project has been in development for some time now. In 2020, Netflix picked up the original screenplay and landed a seven-figure deal to win the spec script. While it’s taken some time to develop with Jason Bateman once attached, some top-tier talent being involved shows Netflix was right in their faith in this story.
