Dermot Mulroney joins Scream 6

June 5, 2022 by Ricky Church

New blood is coming to Scream 6 as Dermot Mulroney (Hanna) has become the latest to join the cast of the slasher sequel.

Mulroney will star alongside Melissa Barrera, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding, and Jenna Ortega in the follow-up to this year’s Scream revival. Also returning for the sequel is Hayden Panettiere as Kirby Reed as she has officially survived her fate in Scream 4.

As for the original stars of the Scream franchise, Courteney Cox revealed she was approached and has seen the script for Scream 6 while Neve Campbell expressed interest in reprising her classic role as Sidney Prescott, but has not officially joined the film as yet.

Details on the film remain secretive but it has been teased that the story “continues with the four survivors of the Ghostface killings as they leave Woodsboro behind and start a fresh chapter.” Principal photography is slated to start this summer with James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick co-writing the screenplay and Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett of Radio Silence returning as directors.

The as-yet-untitled Scream 6 is set for release on March 31st 2023.
