Don Cheadle to star in comedy pilot Ball Street, with Seth Rogen directing

September 11, 2017 by Gary Collinson

Following his five season run of House of Lies, Don Cheadle is heading back to Showtime for the new comedy pilot Ball Street, which has been created by David Caspe (Happy Endings) and Jordan Cahan (My Best Friend’s Girl) and is being directed by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, who also executive produce. Andrew Rannells (Girls) is also on board to star.

Ball Street begins on Oct. 19, 1987, a.k.a. Black Monday, the day of the worst stock market crash in Wall Street history, and follows “a group of outsiders who ended up crashing the world’s largest financial system, a Lamborghini limousine, Don Henley’s birthday party, and the glass ceiling.”

“When the global economy incinerates itself, people always wonder why,” said Showtime president David Nevins. “Ball Street is a dream project rising from the ashes of that disaster. In Don Cheadle and Andrew Rannells, we have two of the most dynamic performers in the world today – the question is which one of them lit the match. With Seth, Evan, David and Jordan at the helm, we are primed for the launch of something memorable.”
