Dredd sequel petition shifts gears, now calling for TV series

January 18, 2016 by Gary Collinson

For the past few years, fans have been campaigning for a sequel to Dredd, the 2012 big screen reboot of the iconic 2000AD character Judge Dredd, which has earned the support of close to 140,000 signatures, not to mention the film’s stars Karl Urban and Olivia Thirlby.

Well, with a movie sequel looking no closer to a reality, the organisers of the petition Bring Back Dredd have now shifted their focus towards a small screen follow-up, and are calling on the likes of Netflix, HBO and Amazon Prime to step in.

“The clamour of the growing fanbase for more from the incredible world of the 2012 Dredd movie cannot be ignored,” the statement reads. “We call on TV and movie producers to step up to the plate and give us more, either through a pay-to-view TV series or a new movie!”

Would you like to see Dredd on the small screen? Let us know in the comments below and be sure to add your name to the petition here…
