Ellen Page set to take on Flatliners remake

October 6, 2015 by Scott J. Davis

Variety are reporting that Ellen Page (Juno) could be set to join the remake of classics 1990 sci-fi thriller Flatliners.

Sony have the project all set for the remake treatment, with acclaimed director Niels Arden Oplev (The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo) on board to direct.

The original film centered around a group of medical students who had the ability to travel into the afterworld to try to find meaning in their own lives, before having to be resuscitated in the nick of time before dying. Before long however, their experiments start to go south.

Joel Schumacher (The Lost Boys) directed the original which included Julia Roberts, Kiefer Sutherland, Kevin Bacon, William Baldwin, Oliver Platt and Hope Davis as part of it’s cast.

Page has been busy of late, with her new film Freeheld, in which she stars with Julianne Moore and Steve Carell, having just opened in the US this weekend.
