Adria Arjona (True Detective) has become the latest casting addition for Pacific Rim 2, joining the previously announced John Boyega (Star Wars: The Force Awakens), Scott Eastwood (Suicide Squad), Cailee Spaeny (Counting to 1,000), Levi Meaden (Aftermath) and Jing Tian (Police Story: Lockdown).
Arjona will soon be seen in the lead role of Dorothy Gale in NBC’s Wizard of Oz retelling Emerald City, which gets underway in January, and is also set to appear in the James Gunn-produced horror The Belko Experiment and the Melissa McCarthy comedy Life of the Party.
Pacific Rim 2 is the follow-up to Guillermo del Toro’s 2013 sci-fi action blockbuster, and sees Steven S. DeKnight (Daredevil) directing. It is set for release on February 23rd 2018.
