Deadline is reporting that Ewan McGregor is set for a return to the small screen, with the actor set to take on the role of American fashion designer Halston in the limited series Simply Halston.
Written by Sharr White (The Affair) and directed by Dan Minahan (American Crime Story), the series will see McGregor portraying Halston (a.kk.a. Roy Halston Frowick) as he builds a worldwide fashion empire synonymous with luxury, sex and fame before seeing control of his company slip from his grasp after a hostile takeover.
McGregor, who won a Golden Globe for his last TV outing in Fargo, is currently gearing up to begin production on the DC movie Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn), where he will play the villainous mob boss Black Mask.
