First images from Drew Goddard’s Bad Times at the El Royale

May 29, 2018 by Gary Collinson

Thanks to Empire and EW, we’ve got our very first look at Bad Times at the El Royale, the new film from director Drew Goddard (The Cabin in the Woods), which features a couple of shots of a topless Chris Hemsworth along with co-stars Jon Hamm, Jeff Bridges, Cynthia Erivo and Dakota Johnson; check them out here…

The official synopsis for Bad Times at the El Royale reads:

“Seven strangers, each with a secret to bury, meet at Lake Tahoe’s El Royale, a rundown hotel with a dark past. Over the course of one fateful night, everyone will have a last shot at redemption… before everything goes to hell.”

“Like everything I do, it’s hard to describe in one sentence,” said Goddard. “Rather than starting from an idea and a logline, this started from a basic premise: A bunch of characters check into a hotel on one night in 1969, and nobody is who they appear. I started with that very simple concept, wrote the roles, and then let the characters dictate the story.”

Bad Times at the El Royale is set for release in North America on October 5th and in the UK on October 12th.
