First look at Angelina Jolie on set of Maleficent 2

With the London based production well underway on the sequel to 2014’s $750 million grossing Maleficent, Princess Aurora herself, Elle Fanning, has shared a first look at Angelina Jolie in her iconic horns for the fairytale sequel.

Maleficent 2 will see Angelina Jolie reprising her role as the Mistress of All Evil, with Elle Fanning returning as Aurora. Harris Dickinson (Trust) will play the Prince, taking over from Brenton Thwaites who is unable to return due to his commitments to the DC series Titans. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them actress Jenn Murray. Chiwetel Ejiofor (Doctor Strange), Michelle Pfeiffer (Murder on the Orient Express) and Ed Skrein (Deadpool) are also on board, with the latter playing the new villain.

Maleficent 2 will be directed by Joachim Rønning (Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales), who’s working from a script originally penned by Jez Butterworth (Edge of Tomorrow) and Linda Woolverton (The Lion King), with rewrites from Micah Fitzerman-Blue and Noah Harpster (Transparent).
