Data We Collect
Like many other websites, Flickering Myth makes use of log files. The information inside the log files includes internet protocol ( IP ) addresses, type of browser, Internet Service Provider ( ISP ), date/time stamp, referring/exit pages, and number of clicks to analyze trends, administer the site, track user’s movement around the site, and gather demographic information.
Flickering Myth uses Google Analytics to monitor traffic. This allows us to see how many people are visiting the site, and what content is being viewed. None of this private information is shared with any other external organisations.
We collect the IP address and username/email address of those who leave comments on the site, depending on which method users use to access the comments (i.e. registered user, guest). If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. You will however by able to delete your own comments by removing them from each page, or by logging in to your Disqus account if registered and deleting them from the dashboard.
We run competitions using a Rafflecopter unit. We do not pass on any details relating to competitions to any other organisations and all information is deleted after the close of each competition.
When entering competitions, users are asked to supply information such as names, email addresses, and social media accounts depending on entry method. This is so we can contact winning entrants. We do not ask entrants to supply mailing addresses at the entry stage.
If you are successful in a competition, we will then require a mailing address, which we share with the distributor/promoter in order to send your prize. We do not retain this information once we have confirmation that the prize has been received.
