Fox developing remake of Luther

November 18, 2014 by Thomas Roach

The BBC detective drama Luther is getting a remake for the US audiences. 20th Century Fox Television is developing the show alongside the creator of the original series, Neil Cross. Star Idris Elba is on board as an executive producer for the show but is not expected to reprise his role for the US version.

The British show received praise in both the UK and the US and Elba received multiple nominations for best actor in a miniseries at both the Emmys and the Golden Globes, winning the Golden Globe for his role in series 3.

Cross has said in the past that there are no plans to make a fourth series of the hit British show.

Do you think we need a US remake of Luther? Let us know…
