Gal Gadot adapting controversial novel Borderlife for the big screen

December 27, 2019 by Gary Collinson

Deadline is reporting that Wonder Woman actress Gal Gadot is set to produce a feature film adaptation of Israeli author Dorit Rabinian’s controversial novel Borderlife, a.k.a All the Rivers.

The book tells the story of a Jewish woman and a Palestinian man who meet and fall in love in New York. The novel was banned from high school reading lists in Israel due to its depiction of a cross-cultural romance, which prompted protests leading to a reversal of the decision.

Gadot – who will next be seen reprising her role as Diana Prince in Wonder Woman 1984 – is set to produce the film adaptation with her husband Jaron Varsano through their Pilot Wave production company. It is the second project announced by Pilot Wave this month alongside a US TV remake of the Israeli crime series Queens.
