Gal Gadot says we’ll know about her Wonder Woman future “once the right moment arrives”

June 22, 2023 by Matt Rodgers

Sometimes you wish DC would just throw a lasso of truth around the future of Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman, because despite the cancellation of Patty Jenkins’ third film, she has had cameos in the last two extended-universe installments (Shazam! Fury of the Gods and The Flash), and has recently hinted that her stint as Diana Prince might not be over.

Gadot is currently doing the rounds for her Netflix thriller Heart of Stone, and so questions have invariably turned towards her most iconic role as Princess Diana of Themyscira, which prompted her to tell Entertainment Tonight that “things are being worked behind the scenes and once the right moment arrives, you’ll know about it.”

When Peter Safran and James Gunn took over as the creative forces behind the future of the DCEU, along with Henry Cavill’s Superman, Gadot’s Wonder Woman appeared to be one of the biggest casualties of the restructure. Wonder Woman 3 was quickly shelved, and the character was nowhere to be seen in the studio’s initial Gods and Monsters phase of this new cinematic universe, although a prequel series – Paradise Lost – would explore Themiscyra prior to the events of Wonder Woman.

Gal Gadot is Agent Rachel Stone, the only intelligence operative who stands between her global peace-keeping organization and the loss of its most valuable — and dangerous — asset, codenamed: The Heart.

Heart of Stone is set to premiere on Netflix on August 11th and features a cast that includes Gal Gadot, Jamie Dornan, Alia Bhatt and Matthias Schweighöfer.
