Greedo actor reveals deleted Han Solo scene from Star Wars, talks ‘Han Shot First’ debate

April 30, 2017 by Gary Collinson

During an interview with Sci-Fi Central, actor Paul Blake – who portrays the character of Greedo in Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope – has revealed a deleted scene from George Lucas’ 1977 classic, which would have taken place in Mos Eisley’s Docking Bay 94.

“There’s a brilliant little sequence which I loved doing with Harrison Ford, where we were shooting at each other like cowboys and Indians. We had this big gun battle which lasted all morning and then Stormtroopers came out of the big double doors and we started firing at them. So we had this fantastic scene and of course that’s all gone. But I’m sure George Lucas has got that all at Skywalker Ranch.”

Seeing as that sequence takes place after Han has shot Greedo in the cantina, Blake would have been portraying a different Rodian (one who is visible in the Jabba the Hutt sequence inserted into the Special Edition), who would presumably be out for revenge against the smuggler for killing his pal in cold blood in self-defence.
