Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn says he “enjoyed” Man of Steel

October 5, 2016 by admin

It’s a movie that didn’t get a great reception when it was first released, and is looked back upon even less kindly with hindsight, but Man of Steel does have its fans – and Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn is one of them.

During a conversation on Twitter last night, someone asked how Gunn felt about Guardians of the Galaxy being named the ‘deadliest film of all-time’ with 83,000 deaths following the Nova Corps defense failing against Ronin. When someone pointed out that Man of Steel is the film that’s always criticised for its death and destruction, Gunn replied saying, “It’s criticized for Supes’ lack of empathy about the deaths. The Nova Corps dies to save the lives of its citizens.”

This caused some DC fans to accuse Gunn of never even seeing Man of Steel or Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and is just repeating what others have said. To which he replied:
