Guillermo del Toro producing remake of Argentinian horror Terrified

Oscar-winning filmmaker Guillermo del Toro has revealed that he is set to produce an English-language remake of Terrified, an Argentinian horror from director Demián Rugna.

The remake is being produced through Fox Searchlight, and has Rugna attached to direct. The synopsis for the original film reads:

Buenos Aires: A cop is called to a bizarre crime scene so requests the assistance of an old friend who has a penchant for the paranormal. When the pair discover that a number of homes are connected to a paranormal event the old friend calls upon his fellow enthusiasts and experts to investigate…

Del Toro is set to follow up the Oscar-winning The Shape of Water with his long-gestating stop motion animated adaptation of Pinocchio, which has recently received the green light from Netflix.
