Gwendoline Christie joins Robert Zemeckis’ untitled drama

June 28, 2017 by Samuel Brace

Gwendoline Christie has joined Steve Carell in Robert Zemeckis’ upcoming untitled drama.

The project will be directed by Zemeckis and produced from a screenplay he also wrote with Caroline Thompson

The film is to be based off the 2012 documentary Marwencol, and will see Carell starring as a man that decides to build a miniature World War II village as a coping mechanism after a violent assault.

Christie has come onboard as Carell’s caretaker, with the movie being described as a broken man’s fight as he discovers how artistic imagination can restore the human spirit.

The Game of Thrones actress also joins the likes of Diane Kruger, Leslie Mann and Janelle Monae in the picture which is yet to be titled.

Christie’s GoT character Brienne quickly became a fan favourite in the series, and she can also be seen in this year’s hotly anticipated Star Wars: The Last Jedi as Captain Phasma, reprising her role from Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
