Harrison Ford confirms Indiana Jones is done after Dial of Destiny, rules out TV series appearance

April 26, 2023 by EJ Moreno

Harrison Ford is hanging up the hat and whip after his upcoming Indiana Jones outing.

The actor confirmed that Indiana Jones and The Dial of Destiny would be the final outing for the iconic character. In a new interview with Total Film, Ford tells the outlet that he is not anticipating any future Indiana Jones adventures.

“This is the final film in the series, and this is the last time I’ll play the character,” Ford said his upcoming turn. “I anticipate that it will be the last time that he appears in a film.”

When asked about the potential Indiana Jones TV series, Ford stresses he “will not be involved in that if it does come to fruition.”

The finality of the upcoming film will add a bit more hype to the project, given its lukewarm reception online. These comments from Harrison Ford also come as no surprise since the actor is infamous for exiting roles he feels he’s done with…unless it’s the ghost cameo in Rise of Skywalker.

The Indiana Jones television series is currently in early development at Disney+, while Dial of Destiny is set for release theatrically this June.

Starring along with Harrison Ford are Phoebe Waller-Bridge (“Fleabag”), Antonio Banderas (“Pain and Glory”), John Rhys-Davies (“Raiders of the Lost Ark”), Shaunette Renee Wilson (“Black Panther”), Thomas Kretschmann (“Das Boot”), Toby Jones (“Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom”), Boyd Holbrook (“Logan”), Oliver Richters (“Black Widow”), Ethann Isidore (“Mortel”) and Mads Mikkelsen (“Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore”).

Directed by James Mangold, the film is produced by Kathleen Kennedy, Frank Marshall, and Simon Emanuel, with Steven Spielberg and George Lucas serving as executive producers. John Williams, who has scored each Indy adventure since the original “Raiders of the Lost Ark” in 1981, is once again composing the score.

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny arrives in cinemas on June 30th, 2023.
