Holt McCallany joins Gerard Butler in Angel Has Fallen

January 11, 2018 by Gary Collinson

Deadline is reporting that Mindhunter star Holt McCallany has joined Gerard Butler and Morgan Freeman in the upcoming action threequel Angel Has Fallen.

According to the site, McCallany is set for a leading role as Wade Jennings, a close friend of Butler’s Secret Service agent Mike Banning, and an ex-military man who now heads up a technology company. However, he’ll be playing more than one side. Morgan Freeman also reprises the role of Vice President Allan Trumbull, although Aaron Eckhart will not be back as President Benjamin Asher.

The sequel to Olympus Has Fallen and Angel Has Fallen is being directed by Ric Roman Waugh (Shot Caller) and will reportedly see Butler’s Banning battling terrorists on Air Force One. It is set to start shooting next month ahead of a release later in the year. McCallany will also return for the second season of Mindhunter, which begins production in April.
