Hulu adapting fantasy series Throne of Glass

September 11, 2016 by Gary Collinson

Hulu is looking to get in on the fantasy genre, with Deadline reporting that the streaming service is adapting Sarah J. Maas’ bestselling book series Throne of Glass, with Kira Snyder (The 100) penning a script for the fantasy adventure series Queen of Shadows. The Mark Gordon Company is producing, with Anna Foerster (Underworld: Blood Wars) set to direct.

Queen of Shadows follows “Celaena Sardothien, a complicated female assassin with a mysterious past who only wants her freedom. Now beholden to an increasingly tyrannous king, Celaena will become a reluctant hero against the multitudes of forces that threaten to destroy her world. Along the way she will make friends, enemies, and lovers, and be wildly underestimated by all of them.”

Maas’ series has taken in five instalments to date – Throne of Glass, Crown of Midnight, Heir of Fire, Queen of Shadows and Empire of Storms – with a sixth to follow.
