Insidious: The Last Key won’t be able to capture the weekend box office away from Star Wars: The Last Jedi or Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle

January 4, 2018 by Samuel Brace

There is a new release to greet the first weekend of 2017 in the form of Insidious: The Last Key, but it won’t be able to win the top spot at the box office this weekend.

The Last Key is the fourth film in the Insidious horror franchise and will launch on Friday at 3,000 locations in North America. Tracking for the film (via Variety) is suggesting that The Last Key will bring in around $15 million to $18 million over the weekend.

This won’t be enough to topple Star Wars: The Las Jedi however, or the impressive Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle. These two will once again be battling it out for the weekend’s top spot with around $28 million to $30 million each.

The Last Jedi has so far grossed $539 million from just 19 days of release and Jumanji has earned $195 million after 14 days.
