Is Samuel L. Jackson hinting at a Red Skull return?

March 15, 2017 by Robert Kojder

Samuel L. Jackson is still making his way around the press circuit participating in interviews for the recently released Kong: Skull Island [read our reviews here, here and here], and Hot 97 took the opportunity to field him a question about what Nick Fury is up to in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Check out the video here…

With regards to Marvel and his character Nick Fury, Jackson teased that: “You didn’t see me in Civil War. I’m still out there trying to figure out what The Skull is going to…”

The confusion here is that there is no character named The Skull, so it’s possible he is referring to Red Skull, played by Hugo Weaving in Captain America: The First Avenger.

The next entry in the MCU is Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, which is just a few months away. Nick Fury will next be seen in Avengers: Infinity War, which is currently in production ahead of a release on May 2nd 2018, followed by the as-yet-untitled Avengers 4 on May 3rd 2019.
