Jack O’Connell to headline Netflix’s new show Godless

May 13, 2016 by Scott J. Davis

Jack O’Connell (Money Monster, Unbroken) is set to lead the cast of Godless, the new Western drama series from Netflix.

Steven Soderbergh (Behind the Candelabra) and Scott Frank are behind the new show which is reportedly set in 1884 and “centers on Frank Griffin, a menacing outlaw who is terrorizing the West as he hunts down Roy Goode, his son-like partner-turned-mortal enemy. While Roy hides at Alice Fletcher’s ranch, Frank’s chase leads him to the quiet town of La Belle — that is mysteriously made up of entirely women.”

Frank, the screenwriter behing Get Shorty, Minority Report and Soderbergh’s Out of Sight, is penning the script and directing, and will also executive produce with Soderbergh and Casey Silver. O’Connell, who appeared in Channel 4’s Skins, will take the lead role of Roy.

O’Connell will next be seen in Jodie Foster’s Money Monster alongside George Clooney and Julia Roberts, which is released later this month.
