The second season of Apple TV+’s Presumed Innocent has landed its second leading star. Joining Superman’s Rachel Brosnahan will be Jack Reynor (The Perfect Couple).
Presumed Innocent was recently turned into an anthology series by Apple where each season will follow a new cast of characters investigating a new murder case. While the first season was based on Scott Turow’s novel of the same name, season two will adapt Jo Murray’s upcoming debut novel Dissection of a Murder.
Brosnahan will play criminal defence lawyer Leila Reynolds on her first big case while Reynor’s role is being kept under wraps. Other films and TV series Reynor has featured in include The Peripheral, Midsommar, Transformers: Age of Extinction and Flora and Son.
David E. Kelley will serve as showrunner again for the second season and will executive produce alongside JJ Abrams for David E. Kelley Productions and Bad Robot respectively. Jake Gyllenhaal, who starred in the first season, will also executive produce. Presumed Innocent is just coming off of several Emmy nominations in the acting categories, including Gyllenhaal for Limited/Anthology Series.
When Leila Reynolds is handed her first murder case, she’s shocked at how high-profile it is: the murder of a well-respected, well-known judge. This shouldn’t be the kind of case she’s leading; it’s way beyond her expertise. But the defendant, Jack Millman, is clear. He wants her, and only her.
