Jake Gyllenhaal eyed for Boston Marathon bombing film Stronger

Variety is reporting that Jake Gyllenhaal is being lined up to star in the Boston Marathon bombing film Stronger, which is in currently in development.

Gyllenhaal, who is enjoying excellent box-office returns for his latest film Southpaw, is rumoured to have his eye on the film, which tells which tells the true story of Boston Marathon survivor Jeff Bauman, who lost both legs during the bombing. Variety has also said that while Gyllenhaal is reportedly favourite for the role, other A-list actors have been discussed.

Stronger is based on the book by Bauman and Bret Witter and chronicles the aftermath of the tragedy, where Bauman was at the finish line cheering on his girlfriend. David Gordon Green (Joe) is directing the film.
