James Corden to voice title role in Super Intelligence with Melissa McCarthy

June 14, 2018 by Ricky Church

Variety has reported that James Corden (Peter Rabbit) has just landed a role in the sci-fi comedy Super Intelligence as the title character alongside Melissa McCarthy (The Happytime Murders). The film comes from New Line Cinema and director Ben Falcone, McCarthy’s husband and frequent collaborator.

McCarthy will play the lead role of Carol Peters, a former corporate executive whose earnest, yet unfulfilled, life is turned upside down when she is selected for observation by the world’s first superintelligence (Corden) — a form of artificial intelligence that may or may not take over the world.

This will mark the fourth time McCarthy and Falcone have worked together on a film following Tammy, The Boss and their most recent collaboration, Life of the Party. The script was written by Steve Mallory, who also wrote The Boss. Corden, meanwhile, can currently be seen in Ocean’s 8.

Production is set to begin next month and the film will be released on Christmas Day, 2019.
