James Gunn confirms Guardians of the Galaxy 2 will not be called Guardians 3000

April 22, 2015 by Luke Owen

It was rumoured last week that James Gunn’s follow up to smash-hit space opera Guardians of the Galaxy would be titled Guardians 3000. Production Weekly noted the title, prompting many sites to report the title change, but that has now all been debunked.

Taking to Twitter, James Gunn announced that Guardians of the Galaxy 2 would NOT be titled Guardians 3000 saying, “there is NO truth to the rumor GotG2 is called Guardians 3000. I don’t know where @prodweek got that.”

Check out the tweet below:

BTW – I’m getting a lot of questions – there is NO truth to the rumor GotG2 is called Guardians 3000. I don’t know where @prodweek got that.

— James Gunn (@JamesGunn) April 22, 2015

Quite swiftly on their part, Production Weekly apologised for their mistake:

Our error, I’ll make the correction ASAP. https://t.co/nsbpzH3zxv
