Jamie Foxx and Joseph Gordon-Levitt to star in Netflix sci-fi film

According to Collider, Jamie Foxx and Joseph Gordon-Levitt have been cast in an untitled sci-fi movie from directors Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman (Catfish), which has been scripted by Mattson Tomlin (Boy) and is set up an Netflix.

The site reports that the movie revolves around a drug epidemic which grants people a range of superpowers, and follows a teenage actress of color who finds herself dealing the drug to help care for her family. Foxx will reportedly portray a family man who is looking to track down the drug’s designer after suffering a great loss, with Gordon-Levitt as a cop who takes the law into his own hands.

Foxx will next be seen alongside Taron Egerton in Robin Hood, and is currently shooting Just Mercy, a courtroom drama with Michael B. Jordan and Brie Larson, before moving onto Todd McFarlane’s Spawn. Gordon-Levitt meanwhile was last seen in 2016’s Snowden and recently wrapped production on the terrorism thriller 7500.
