Janet Planet trailer teases A24’s critically-acclaimed coming of age drama

April 5, 2024 by Matt Rodgers

A24 and BBC Film has released the trailer for 2014 Pulitzer Prize winner Annie Baker’s critically-acclaimed coming of age drama Janet Planet.

Charting a summer spent in the company of an 11-year old girl (Zoe Ziegler) and her mother, and the three visitors who enter her life, Janet Planet stars Julianne Nicholson (Dream Scenario), Elias Koteas (The Thin Red Line), Will Patton (Armageddon), and Sophie Okonedo (Slow Horses); check out the trailer below…

In rural Western Massachusetts, 11-year-old Lacy spends the summer of 1991 at home, enthralled by her own imagination and the attention of her mother, Janet. As the months pass, three visitors enter their orbit, all captivated by Janet and her spellbinding nature. In her solitary moments, Lacy inhabits an inner world so extraordinarily detailed that it begins to seep into the outside world.

Janet Planet is in select U.S. theaters from June 21st.
