Jason Isaacs cast as the Captain in Star Trek: Discovery

March 7, 2017 by Samuel Brace

Jason Isaacs has boarded CBS’s Star Trek: Discovery as the show’s captain.

Star Trek: Discovery was originally supposed to debut this past January but showrunner Bryan Fuller’s (Hannibal, American Gods) departure from the show and other behind the scenes difficulties let to delays to proceedings.

Things now seem to be getting somewhat back on track now, and it has been revealed today that actor Jason Isaacs has joined the show as Captain Lorca of the Starship Discovery.

Isaacs, a veteran film and TV actor is fresh off his darkly sinister turn on Netflix original series The OA and is perhaps looking for something a little more light-hearted for his next TV adventure.

The cast also includes The Walking Dead’s Sonequa Martin-Green, who will star as the lead lieutenant commander, along with Michelle Yeoh, Doug Jones, Anthony Rapp, James Frain, Chris Obi, Shazad Latif, Mary Chieffo, Terry Serpico, Maulik Pancholy and sam Vartholomeos.
